Gore developed in the heart of the Laurentians, on land once cleared by pioneers from Ireland and Scotland in the mid-19th century. Surrounded by dense forests, crystal-clear lakes, and rolling hills, these families shaped a land in their own image — solid, discreet, and deeply rooted in nature. Over time, the family farms gave way to country homes and retreats, yet the spirit of the place endures — that of a community bound to its heritage, its tranquility, and the authenticity of Laurentian life.

Designed by architect Pierre Davidson with interiors by Hyperia Design, this family retreat was conceived for gatherings and togetherness. Created to comfortably host family and friends, it makes the most of every inch: six bedrooms and four bathrooms spread across 2,200 square feet, with an open-concept layout that invites everyone to gather around a hearty meal or a crackling fire.

The owners, deeply attached to this land that has always been theirs, dreamed of building a place that reflected who they are — simple, warm, and welcoming. Though they were away throughout the construction, they followed the entire process from afar — a journey marked by trust, passion, and emotion.

Today, all that’s left is a fire, good food… and the magic is complete.
